[REVIEW] TATCHA EYE PEARL EYE TREATMENT

Tatcha is one of the most well-known Sephora brands and they’re famous for their luxury Japanese inspired skincare and beauty. I stumbled across this product early of last year and wasn’t initially fond of it but it definitely grew on to me as I was always looking for a new product to try out. Could this be the new big thing? Stay tuned to see what I have to say.

Claims

A tinted treatment that awakens eyes with a pearl-like luster, hydrates, and reduces the look of dark circles and wrinkles — instantly and over time.

This 2-in-1 makeup and treatment formula breaks upon application to deliver both refreshing moisture and natural coverage for a healthy, well-rested look all day.

  • Awakens: Light-refracting pearl pigments work with Akoya Pearl extract in an active skincare treatment formula to restore radiance by helping to address the three causes of under eye darkness: thinning skin, blue undertones, and pigmentation. The Pearl works to address dark circles, fine lines, and wrinkles by helping minimize glycation and the appearance of hyperpigmentation. It is boosted by niacinamide, known to visibly brighten and firm.
  • Smooths and Protects: Silk powder smooths the look of fine lines and imperfections, while a blend of botanical extracts protects from makeup and pollution that can cause signs of aging.
  • Anti-Aging Hydration: Lightweight cream powered by Hadasei-3™, a proprietary trio of Japanese anti-aging superfoods, and hyaluronic acid, which nourishes and hydrates for a plump, refreshed appearance.

How to use:

The container looks like it’s a pop open kind of jar however you need to twist the lid for it to come off. With clean fingers and clean face, apply a small rice grain amount of product on each under eye and massage the product to breakdown on skin. Please be gentle with also massage it until you see the product breaking down evenly into almost like a lightweight paste then pat it on like an eye cream.

My Thoughts

I really think this is a very revolutionary product because it’s an under-eye treatment that acts as a concealer that contains brightening and also hydrating benefits to provide the skin long-term and longlasting results. I personally found this so easy to use and the skin on my under eyes instantly looked brighter and smoother. I could actually get away with just using this and some powder for the day. I’ve tested this with makeup and how I prefer to use this is I would apply on my skin first then I go in with foundation to complete the look. I normally do foundation then concealer but because this is an under-eye treatment with hybrid concealer properties, I find it works best when applied directly onto fresh, clean skin.

Initially, I was not convinced by the marketing for this product and what it did but throughout time, I gradually became more intrigued by the concept of it. Christmas came around and I got a Sephora gift card as a gift so I decided to pick this up to try for myself. There was a lot of mixed reviews on this when it first came out, some people were saying it’s lifechanging and it truly brightened the skin under their under eyes significantly and some said it was cakey, crepey. From my experience from using this product, you only need a rice grain amount of on each eye then you must break down the product and blend evenly throughout the skin. I truly do believe some of the negative reviews are due to user errors on using the product because all you need is a rice grain amount for each side. Another part of me believes that those who struggled with dry, cakey issues from using this product are likely not moisturizing that region enough therefore whatever you apply on top of the dried region of skin, it will reflect that way as well.

The reason why I speak so highly of this product is that I watched a lot of demo and review videos to have a better understanding of what exactly this is and how to use it prior to purchasing it. It is a very expensive product so I want to know what exactly I’m doing prior to purchasing it. I wouldn’t speak highly on any product if I didn’t believe in it and this is very likely going to be a repurchase because it’s just fantastic and there’s so much product in it.

Before     &      After

Overall

  • Texture: 5/5 – The consistency appears to be a lightweight cream with a skin tone pigment and as you massage it in your skin, you will notice that it’s breaking down the product and pigment so it spreads more easily into your skin. It also has this hydrating factor to it because of the Koya pearl extract in it.
  • Scent: 5/5 – Doesn’t really smell like anything to me, maybe like a really, really faint floral scent.
  • Price: 4/5 – Arguably this could very much be expensive for many people and to be quite frank with you, it was expensive at the first glance for me as well but when I used the product and understood what it did for my skin, I was so impressed and honestly, I think this is definitely an item worth splurging on because it’s such a delicate and effective formula, I’m absolutely blown away how it’s brightened and also smoothened the skin under my eyes.
  • Performance: 5/5 – Amazing, this product definitely wowed me and I really like what they did with the formula and I found my skin looking so much brighter and smoother right after applying it on. It’s almost like silk! No concealer, no eye cream has looked this nice on my skin. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve tried a lot of products and liked them but this has such an incredibly finely and well-developed formula where it almost looks like your skin! It doesn’t look like you’re wearing makeup or have some concealer on.
  • Packaging: 5/5 – It’s Tatcha, are you kidding me? They have the best looking packaging and very aesthetically pleasing.
  • Overall: 5/5 – Love it, would buy more of it, would repurchase it the moment I finish this. I have no complaints with this products and hope to see more awesome products from Tatcha.

C-Roland Purta Pu ~ Placenta Essence Collagen Mask

There is so much buzz about placenta based products for skincare for many decades and it supposedly is excellent for providing the skin fantastic anti-ageing results. I personally have not tried anything with the placenta in it however am very open to doing so. Japanese cosmetics always have such appealing looking packaging and I absolutely love how there are 40 sheet masks in here soaked in a generous amount of essence. You also can use this daily, which is fantastic.

Loshi Horse Oil Cream, C-Roland Horse Classic Oil and Cosmos Facial Brush

Horse oil is also another famous and well-known ingredient used in skincare for many decades. Although it may sound odd to some, it’s a very popular ingredient used in Korea and Japan – it’s specifically used to treat inflamed skin, eczema, burns, and cuts. How cool is that? I think these would be a fantastic addition and new discovery for those who have not tried products like these. The cosmos facial brush is so soft, it feels like you’re brushed a really soft rabbit’s fur. You can use this for a gentle and luxurious cleansing experience. I personally already own one but I’m going to save this one to bring traveling with me. One for home, one for travel!

Skinfood Avocado Rich Cream

I already own the avocado rich toner and currently am testing it out. It’ll be interesting to incorporate this into my routine. Since it’s getting a lot colder and drier outside, I naturally gravitate towards more rich, thicker and denser formulas because my skin really needs it. I know they have repackaged their products a few times now, I do believe this is their older packaging and I must say, it looks a lot better than the current packaging style they’re going for. This cream is formulated with 35% avocado extract and avocado oil and it’s to provide skin nutrition, moisture, and hydration. Long term use, it can provide the skin brighter and a healthier appearance.

COSRX Honey Ceramide Eye Cream

I was extremely excited to see this because I absolutely adore eye creams and am always wanting to out more. COSRX is a very well-known Korean brand for their famous pimple patches, the good morning low pH cleanser, and their Centella blemish cream. This eye cream contains both ceramides and honey extract which help to supplement the skin’s barrier. It also can provide long-lasting suppleness and day protection against moisture loss.

Kose – Kokutousei Hakkou Lotion

I love how Life Code Boutique always includes such unique, hidden gems into their sets and their store has a lot of great hidden gems as well. This is lotion created with fermented black sugar extracts. Black sugar extract provides vitamin B to the skin, which can help for cell reproduction. Not only formulated with black sugar extract, but it also is formulated with double HA, lipidure, and tree peony extract to provide long-lasting moisture and care. The texture is described as a pliable and gooey that easily melts into the skin.

Look how precious this looks? The packaging itself is fit for a princess. This is one of many of Japan’s popular items and I can understand why because I’ve been using this powder every single day to set my makeup and it really controls my excess oil from producing and keeps me matte without looking dry. I recall reading somewhere that you can wear this powder to sleep and it acts as a skincare powder, where it can minimize excess oil production throughout the night. I would recommend this to those who have normal and combination skin. If you’re sensitive to scents or have sensitive skin, maybe skip on this one because this does contain fragrance in it. It has a very soft floral scent to it, which I absolutely enjoy!

The Etude House Eyebrow pencil has been a favourite of many for many years. Not only it’s so affordable, but it’s also fantastic and quite comparable to high-end eyebrow pencils, they’re not too waxy like some western brand eyebrow pencils but is just perfect. It glides on nicely and provides the brows of the perfect shape. You can do light strokes with this and it’s very forgiving and you can build your way to your desired brow shape. You get this for free if you spend $30 or more!

[REVIEW] JayJun Roselle Tea Eye Patches

I’m a big fan of eye patches and I love what they have to offer. Life code boutique sent over an amazing package for me to share with you all and also, I wanted to share my experience with the Jayjun Rosellete Tea Eye Patches. I have seen these around for about a year now and have been dying to try them. Special thanks to Alice and the Life Code Boutique team for sending these over for me to share with you all!

Available on: Life Code Boutique | eBay

What are they?

These are hydrogel patches that provide conditioning benefits and brightens dark, dull skin for a fresh, awake appearance.

How to use:

  • After cleansing the skin thoroughly, ensure your skin is clean to apply these on. When taking the product out of the container, use the spatula to pick up the patches and gently apply them on the skin under your eyes.
  • Leave the patches on 20-30 minutes and gently massage + pat the excess essence into your skin.

*bold = nice ingredients, italics = to be aware of.
Ingredient List: Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan), Potassium Chloride, Tripropylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, Betaine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Flower Extract, Sambucus Nigra Flower Extract, Lilium Tigrinum Extract, Plumeria Rubra Flower Extract, Magnolia Liliflora Flower Extract, Pentylene Glycol, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Extract, Pinus Sylvestris Leaf Extract, Hibiscus Sabdariffa Flower Extract(0.2%), Saururus Chinensis Extract, Ceratonia Siliqua Gum, Sucrose, Isopropyl Alcohol, Calcium Chloride, Cyamopsis Tetragonoloba (Guar) Gum, Cellulose Gum, Chondrus Crispus Powder, Allantoin, Adenosine, Disodium EDTA, Calcium Lactate, Ethyl Hexanediol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Propanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, CI 77491, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Fragrance, Chlorphenesin

TIPS & TRICKS: You can apply these on your cheeks and forehead for a full detoxifying and cooling experience. Who said eye patches are strictly for eyes? I find these are really nice on the cheeks especially if you’re having dry skin and puffy skin kind of day.

Put these on before applying on your makeup and then remove them off after 15-20 minutes, your skin should be depuffed and bright!

My thoughts

I found these so comfortable to wear, I almost forgot I had them on the handful of times I’ve worn them. There are these little flower petals on them that sometimes get of your skin but you can just wipe them off. I find these super detoxifying and they feel amazing under the eyes. If you have puffy eyes and need a little pick-me-up, just wear these! They make a huge difference in my skin’s overall feel and appearance. I look more alert, refreshed and hydrated! If you’re guilty of staying up late, eating too much sodium and etc, these definitely will do the trick and give you that refreshed look and you’ll less puffy.

I know there is alcohol in this product but a lot of eye patches do have alcohol in them for the formulation purposes, a lot of the time alcohol is used to create a lightweight feel to the product’s consistency, it also can help ingredients to penetrate more easily into the skin and used as a preservative to prolong the shelf’s life of the product. I mean, the last thing we want is dry eye patches and we cannot use them, right?

I have very sensitive eyes and I have this a handful of times in the past where my eyes are very reactive, they will turn bloodshot red if it’s irritated by the ingredients I put on my face. I’m quite surprised and pleased to say that my eyes did not turn bloodshot red when using these eye patches and that they were just fine. The skin around my eyes

Overall

  • Texture: 5/5 – Perfection, they’re not too thick where they don’t allow circulation on your skin, they’re also not too thin where they tear easily. The fit and adherence for these are spots on, I don’t have the issue of where they slide off because there’s too much essence or because of the fit. They fit very well and I’m pleased with these.
  • Scent: 5/5 – I don’t really notice a scent from these, maybe something faint but I don’t really pick up any specific notes from smelling it.
  • Performance: 5/5 – They’re excellent and I have no complaints about these. Well worth the hype, they’re affordable and are available at a lot of places online.
  • Packaging: 5/5 – The packaging for this is gorgeous! There’s a gorgeous floral design on the lid and also the print is in gold font. It has this luxurious felt and appearance to it.
  • Overall: 5/5 – No complaints here! I love it and it deserves more love for what they are. I use these in the morning to depuff my eyes and also in the evening before I apply my eye cream and eye sleeping mask on. They’re really easy on my sensitive eyes and I am very likely to repurchase these.

[REVIEW] PURITO CENTELLA GREEN LEVEL EYE CREAM

Purito has come a long way in the beauty community and their journey as an overall brand. They were one of the very first companies that worked with me when I was relatively small on Instagram and believed in me. I’m blown away by their level of customer service and care because I have been following them for months and I can see the drastic changes on how they want to brand themselves and how engaging they are with the beauty community. They’ve been releasing a bunch of new products that are adjusted and catered to their fans wants, needs and concerns.

Thank you so much to Purito for sending over your goodies to me. A couple months ago, I review the Centella green level toner on here and loved it. They also sent me their eye cream but unfortunately, during the move – I lost the eye cream because it was misplaced somewhere in my storage. About a month ago, I found it in one of my storage bins and was ecstatic to try it out. I’m now back to share my full thoughts on this eye cream! 🙂

Available on: Yesstyle | Amazon

Key ingredients:

  • Centella Asiatica: is a plant-based ingredient that has multiple healing properties. The extract is rich with amino acids, fatty acids and etc that can help treat and prevent acne, calming down skin inflammation and promote collagen growth.
  • Shea Butter: is non-comedogenic (will not clog your pores) and it can mimic the moisturizer in sebum. Thus, it convinces the skin into believing that it has enough sebum and helps slow down the process of overproduction of sebum. It also can help out on skin discoloration by evening out the skin’s overall appearance.
  • Panthenol: This ingredient is common in beauty products such as moisturizers, ointments, shampoos, and even eye drops! It’s specifically used to help heal the skin such as from sunburns and wounds. Panthenol is another ingredient that does a fantastic job binding water and enhances hydration.
  • Ceramide NP: This is one of the types of ceramides. This can improve the appearance and texture of dry skin.

Ingredients

Centella Asiatica Extract, Water, Hydrogenated C6-14 Olefin Polymer, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Cetyl Alcohol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Butylene Glycol, Methyl Trimethicone, Dipropylene Glycol, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Dipentaerythrityl Hexa C5-9 Acid Esters, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Cetearyl Olivate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-12, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Palmitoyl Dipeptide-10, Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid, Sorbitan Olivate, Stearic Acid, Polyglyceryl-2 Stearate, Tromethamine, Caprylyl Glycol, Glyceryl Stearate, Panthenol, Carbomer, Stearyl Alcohol, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Cholesterol, Acetyl Glucosamine, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Ceramide NP, Pancratium Maritimum Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Alteromonas Ferment Extract, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Disodium EDTA, Adenosine, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil

My thoughts

Although I do prefer thick eye creams specifically for nighttime routines, I was expecting this eye cream to be lightweight considering the fact there were water and glycerin on the top of the ingredients list. It’s quite thick and rich and to my surprise, it spreads really nicely and evenly on the skin. I like how dense it feels on and the skin under my eyes instantly feels moisturized and nourished. I also am very milia-prone specifically the skin around my eyes and I did not experience any signs of milia so that’s always a bonus because we know how troublesome and difficult it can be to remove those! I’m pretty sure you can use this during the day time too because I personally found it very comfortable on the skin even though it was on the thicker side of textures.

Overall

  • Texture: 5/5 – I absolutely adore thicker creams, whether it’s for the eyes, face or body. It’s also what I look for in eye creams because I know that it will provide me long-lasting moisture. This is good on my books.
  • Scent: 4/5 – There is a subtle essential oils scent, I see bergamot and lavender listed however I found the lavender essential oil overpowers the bergamot. You do also smell Centella, which is pleasant. Don’t worry too much about the scent because it fades away after a few minutes of wear. One thing I would change about this is to make it unscented because I just prefer it to be that way.
  • Price: 5/5 – Huge fan and props to Purito for making this eye cream so affordable too because I would say it’s very comparable to high-end texture and performance but for a fraction of the cost.
  • Performance: 5/5 – Absolutely wonderful. I found the skin around my eyes so soft and moisturized the following morning, not to mention plump looking. I am someone who suffers from very dry eyes and they get really itchy sometimes. I find when I use this particular eye cream, I rub my eyes less to no rubbing at all.
  • Packaging: 5/5 – Functional, I love how it’s in a squeeze tube for hygiene reasons and how travel-friendly it is.
  • Overall: 4.5/5 – Love it, it’s my current holy grail eye cream. It does the job and works wonders! What’s not to love about it? Knowing Purito, I’m sure they will create an unscented version later on in the road. Please check out their brand if you had not already, you will not be disappointed. I can think of 3 products of theirs that I use on a regular daily basis. Purito has very reasonable pricing, effective and mild skincare.

[PART 1] Understanding Your Skin + My Experience (How I Learned to Understand My Skin)

Hello friends! I hope you all are having a fantastic week so far, today’s blog post is going to be a bit different from what I normally post. I wanted to step aside from my usual weekly review posts and try to share some tips and my experience with my skincare journey. I hope this can help you.

The beginning…

How I got into skincare, what made me want to make the change…

I was never too serious about my skincare game until I reached my early 20s. I use to rely on makeup wipes and just a cleanser to do the trick however I wasn’t wearing that much makeup back then so I can give myself some slack for that. Between the ages of 15 to around 20, all I used was a foaming cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. Remember those drugstore skincare gift sets? Neutrogena? Olay? Yeah, I got those as gifts so I would use those. I actually got into skin care when I noticed changes in my skin around when I was 22. My skin was not as clear/healthy as it was during my late teenage years. I also had a terrible history of picking my acne in my early teenage years where they would scar up. During the time, it didn’t bother me but man, I quickly regretted it as I got older. Around the age of 23, I started to introduce double cleansing into my routine and also serums. Just adding double cleansing in my routine was a huge game changer itself simply because it removed so much makeup off my face. I almost felt disgusted to think back all the previous years of not removing my makeup properly. Anyway, why dwell in the past when you can make a change moving forward, right?

My skin type and concerns…

is combination, dehydrated and PIE. I have very mild texture and some blackheads on my nose that can be very difficult to get rid of.

My early skincare sins

We all make mistakes and learn from them.

I stated one of my skincare sins and that was not double cleansing earlier but honestly, during that time – the learning tools that people had back then were mainly on youtube and even YouTubers made mistakes as well. I remember I would reference an entire regimen a youtube shared because I thought it was best for my skin type. Keep in mind that Youtube back then was a whole different ball game than it is now, there were a lot of amateurs who were enthusiasts and also all about DIY.

One of the worst products I used on my skin that I’m almost for sure damaged my skin was St Ives. Apricot Scrub, and I’m almost positive you have heard or have seen this before. This product has probably been around for decades and to be quite frank with you, I don’t see this effective by any means as a facial scrub; Perhaps it would be more effective as a body scrub of some sort.

Another skincare sin I used to do quite a bit was to wipe and towel dry my face with a used towel. Now, I don’t mean like a week old but I’ve used the towel at least once or twice and have been guilty of using it again. This may seem harmless but all the trapped bacteria, oil, and gunk from the previous use are likely to still be on it. It’s always good to towel dry with a fresh, clean towel. I would suggest you buy 5-7 facial towels/cloths for your face and wash them once a week so you have a fresh towel every time. They’re relatively affordable and you can find them pretty much everywhere. I get mine from Miniso and they usually come in cute little patterns or characters on them.

Don’t believe everything you hear, are suggested and see…

We need to keep in mind that youtube/influencers/peers are not medical professionals who can assist you with your skincare needs. You would have to go visit a dermatologist and have a proper consultation because as much as you love and trust your peers, their feedback and suggestions may not be right. The last thing you want is to damage or irritate your skin because you used the wrong product on your skin; your skin is so fragile and you should treat it with respect. This is not limited to skincare only, diet is very crucial and even environment can have irritants to irritate the skin.

Take a closer look…

Whether you have the time now or not, I want you to look at your skin closely and describe to yourself what you see. Texture, spots, patches, dryness, oiliness, redness, dehydration, whatever that might be and write it down on a piece of paper. Of course, there are skin types and I’m sure most of you understand or have an idea what your skin type may be but these are skin conditions. You need to be specific on what you see to be able to understand what you can do to treat your skin.

Here are some examples I would ask myself.

Example:
You see spots on your face.
The questions you should be asking:
Are they different colours?
What colour are they?
What region of the face are they in?

You have oily/combination skin but you have dry patches on certain parts of your face.
The questions you should be asking:

The more specific you are, the better because the chances of you being able to find images on online that match to your skin condition are higher. I’m not saying to self diagnose your skin condition but to have a better understanding of what it could potentially be. I know not everyone can afford the time and money to see a dermatologist so it’s better to do research and have some understand than none whatsoever.

My current skincare sins

I am still quite guilty for still doing these from time to time. I still rub my face against a towel to dry my face after cleansing and I still take scorching hot showers because I can and I will. I know it’s bad for you and dries out your skin terribly but that’s probably the only skincare sin that I will continue to do. From time to time, when I see a breakout appear and it’s raised… I have the tendency of trying to pop it if a pimple patch does not resolve it.

What I know so far and I have I’ve been treating my skin:

I’ve learned to exfoliate 2 times a week and not to do it so frequently. I’ve been also avoiding overusing/or using any AHA based products in general because it can do more harm than help my skin. The last thing I want is to have a weak or broken barrier then having to repair it because we all know how much that can be a pain.

Here is the list of products I have been using and have been working out for me:

  • Kose Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil / Commleaf Cleansing Balm
  • Youth To The People Kale Cleanser
  • Unpa Cosmetics Bye Bye Cica Toner
  • Klairs Supple Preparation Unscented Toner/Tiam B5 Toner
  • Iope Bio Essence Intensive Conditioning Essence
  • First Aid Beauty Retinol Eye Cream
  • Florishe Camellia Full Blossom Serum (get 10% off your purchase click here.)
  • Klairs Vitamin Drop Serum
  • CeraVe Moisturizing Cream

If you have any questions or wanted to know something I did not cover in today’s post, please feel free to drop your suggestions below! Til next time, bye for now!

[REVIEW] LANEIGE EYE SLEEPING MASK

I’m sure most of us know what eye creams, eye patches, and eye masks are and some of us use them but have you ever heard of an eye sleeping mask before? Laneige is well known for its sleeping skincare range. They already have their original sleeping mask, lip sleeping mask and now… eye sleeping mask!

Now that it’s springtime where I am, my eyes are heavily itchy and irritated from all the pollen in the air and my sleeping patterns are not exactly the greatest (but I’m working on it, ok?) so I definitely was intrigued by this product. Thank you so much to the Jolse team for gifting me this product to try out and review. Please be sure to check out their online store for fantastic deals and products. Their mega deals have products that start at 50 cents and also, they offer free shipping worldwide.

My thoughts

Initially, I found the applicator really chunky at first when I pulled it out of the container, however, as I used it more and more I got used to it. I also did not understand why the product was in this kind of container because how exactly do you even get the product at the very bottom out? I know I have not reached the bottom yet but these are several concerns I noticed right off the right that I want you all to keep in mind.

Overall:

  • Texture: 5/5 – This is the original sleeping mask’s sister but a more lightweight feeling. I would describe this texture like a water-based gel and it spreads really nicely on the skin. You will notice that it will dry up into a slightly tacky consistency but it’s not uncomfortable and if you layer your skincare products on top, you’re likely to not even feel it.
  • Scent: 4/5 – No scent. Even though it says there is fragrance at the very bottom of the ingredient list, I do not smell anything. Which is nice because I find my eye area quite sensitive and I’m not going to take my chances applying products that have fragrance (irritant) under it. I’m also very milia-prone under the eyes so I have to take precautions using any sort of eye product.
  • Price: 3/5 – Price will vary where you purchase this from however I found it relatively expensive at Sephora. If you’re interested in trying this, I would recommend you to purchase it off Jolse because it’s a fantastic k-beauty shop and everything is a lot more affordable than most retailers!
Performance: 5/5 – It was a very pleasant experience, I would definitely recommend this to those who suffer from puffy eyes because this really does the trick and does exactly what it claims to do. Like I said before, I am milia-prone so a lot of eye products out in the market don’t always work for it. I’m very thankful that this did not give me any milia and I found it really lightweight where my skin could breathe.
  • Packaging: 3/5 – Eh. It looks aesthetically pretty because of the frosted glass packaging give it’s that extra fancy appearance to it but I’m still questioning why they ended up choosing this sort of packaging because it’s just not sanitary by any means and it’s weird! How do you even get the product out from the bottom? shake it? hold it upside down?
  • Overall: 4/5 – I like it! For some reason, I think I may repurchase it simply because I enjoyed the product however I do hope by then that they decide to change up the packaging to be more hygienic. Overall, I’m pretty pleased with the results it has given me. The skin under my eyes feels refreshed, plumped and as a matter of fact, I found it even brighter!

[REVIEW] A. By BomUltra Time Return Eye Cream

Hello, hello! It hasn’t been long since I was long on here but I hope you all are doing well and are enjoying some nice weather where ever you are. I’m so happy to say summer has finally came to an end and fall has come.

I would like to share a product I have received from beMusedKorea to review and share to you guys my thoughts + opinions on it. Firstly, I would like to thank Lydia and her team for reaching out to me on Instagram and asking if I would be interested in trying their new launch of products. I will also be reviewing another product they provided me sometime this week or early on next week.

Disclaimer: All views and thoughts of this product are my own. What may work for me, may not work for you so please keep that in mind.

A. By Bom – Ultra Time Return Eye Cream
Price: $49 for 30g / 1.05 onces
Available on: beMusedKorea

    • Claims: This elegant formula, with skin smoothing texture, provides long lasting nutrition that is immediately absorbed upon application, creating a protective film that noticeably smoothes and plumps the skin around the eyes.
      Key ingredients:
Natural Collagen Booster – Protects and energizes the skin
      Maca Peptide: Strengthens skin barrier
Poria Cocos Extract: Gives nutrition and protects the skin
Ginseng berry: Hydrates and softens skin appearance

Here are some photos demonstrating and showing the texture and finish of the product. This is one full pump of the product and how it looks when massaged in the skin.

My thoughts:

The first few things you will notice when you dispense out is that it has a gel-velvety texture, making it easy to apply on your skin and it blends in seamlessly into the skin. It also doesn’t have much of a scent to it and does not smell artificial. The scent reminds me of freshly washed clothes with a bit of baby lotion! It’s not greasy or heavy on the skin and feels cooling. Some eye creams are too rich and dense in the formula so they tend to sit on top of the skin for a long period of time and have difficulty penetrating into the skin. I find this eye cream easy to sink into the skin and it doesn’t bother me – I don’t feel it on my face after applying it. It does not leave any film, color or texture residue behind and the skin around my eyes are soft, radiant and feel replenished. I have tried using this under makeup and it doesn’t shift or affect my makeup.

The weather is starting to get much colder where I am and I tend to get real skin all over my face and especially around my eyes. I’m not sure if some eye creams are irritating on my skin but I do rub my eyes more often with it on. For this eye cream, I haven’t experienced any issues with eye rubbing so that’s good news! I’m very aware of rubbing your eyes can cause major premature wrinkles but sometimes I can’t help myself.

Overall thoughts on this product:

  • Texture: 5/5 – Gel eye creams are more effective on my skin and do a better job of hydrating my skin! My biggest concern was if it was going to be too greasy and thick but it wasn’t! I prefer lighter gel texture eye creams because it feels weightless on my eyes.
  • Scent: 4/5 – I was hoping it would smell like flowers but the scent isn’t very important to me, the effectiveness of the product does.
  • Price: 4/5 – The price is on the higher end side however you’re paying for a quality product with nice packaging. It’s still much more affordable than western high eye creams.
  • Performance: 5/5 It doesn’t sit on my skin and absorbs pretty fast. It layers really nicely with my entire skincare routine and I don’t have any issues with it.
  • Packaging: 5/5 I was not expecting this from A. By Bom because I thought they would have made the packaging similar to their sheet mask designs but this was a fabulous surprise! The packaging is minimalist, luxurious and timeless. The bottle itself looks really expensive. I’m glad they opt for this kind of container and dispenser, I really don’t like eye creams in tubes; they can be super hard to dispense out the correct desired amount of product.
  • Overall: 4/5 I would repurchase this and would recommend this to my friends who are 20 years of age and older, I think prevention is key. I started using some mild anti-aging products since I was 21-22 and even if you don’t use anti-aging products, you should at least use sunscreen on a regular daily basis. Your skin will thank you later in life for doing so.

Q. How do you know about this brand?

A. I’ve heard of A. By Bom Cosmetics through social media and I’ve tried a couple of their sheet masks and loved every single of them.

Here are some of my A. By Bom sheet masks recommendations that I believe all of you should give a try:

1. Ultra Water Leaf Mask – This is a one step sheet mask that is made with safe and natural material that is biodegradable and is naturally dis solvable. The serum is high in concentration and is equivalent to one whole bottle of ampoule (30 ml). It’s able to minimize the appearance of pores, re hydrate quench skin, soothes and calms down inflamed skin.
2. Ultra Cool Leaf Mask – This is a two step mask set that contains green leaf shared patches. It’s fantastic to retain moisture, soothe and calm the skin also provide additional hydration.
3. Ultra Floral Leaf Mask – Firstly, this is a beautiful mask that comes with a cute pink flower patch soaked in the mask’s essence. This is also a two-step mask set that provides whitening and skin tightening. It is infused with peach flower extracts that are excellent for whitening and anti wrinkle care. There is also Sakura flower extracts to provide hydration.

That is all for today, friends. I hope you enjoyed my review and found it helpful. Til next time! I am wishing you a wonderful and exciting weekend ahead of you.
