[REVIEW] TATCHA EYE PEARL EYE TREATMENT

Tatcha is one of the most well-known Sephora brands and they’re famous for their luxury Japanese inspired skincare and beauty. I stumbled across this product early of last year and wasn’t initially fond of it but it definitely grew on to me as I was always looking for a new product to try out. Could this be the new big thing? Stay tuned to see what I have to say.

Claims

A tinted treatment that awakens eyes with a pearl-like luster, hydrates, and reduces the look of dark circles and wrinkles — instantly and over time.

This 2-in-1 makeup and treatment formula breaks upon application to deliver both refreshing moisture and natural coverage for a healthy, well-rested look all day.

  • Awakens: Light-refracting pearl pigments work with Akoya Pearl extract in an active skincare treatment formula to restore radiance by helping to address the three causes of under eye darkness: thinning skin, blue undertones, and pigmentation. The Pearl works to address dark circles, fine lines, and wrinkles by helping minimize glycation and the appearance of hyperpigmentation. It is boosted by niacinamide, known to visibly brighten and firm.
  • Smooths and Protects: Silk powder smooths the look of fine lines and imperfections, while a blend of botanical extracts protects from makeup and pollution that can cause signs of aging.
  • Anti-Aging Hydration: Lightweight cream powered by Hadasei-3™, a proprietary trio of Japanese anti-aging superfoods, and hyaluronic acid, which nourishes and hydrates for a plump, refreshed appearance.

How to use:

The container looks like it’s a pop open kind of jar however you need to twist the lid for it to come off. With clean fingers and clean face, apply a small rice grain amount of product on each under eye and massage the product to breakdown on skin. Please be gentle with also massage it until you see the product breaking down evenly into almost like a lightweight paste then pat it on like an eye cream.

My Thoughts

I really think this is a very revolutionary product because it’s an under-eye treatment that acts as a concealer that contains brightening and also hydrating benefits to provide the skin long-term and longlasting results. I personally found this so easy to use and the skin on my under eyes instantly looked brighter and smoother. I could actually get away with just using this and some powder for the day. I’ve tested this with makeup and how I prefer to use this is I would apply on my skin first then I go in with foundation to complete the look. I normally do foundation then concealer but because this is an under-eye treatment with hybrid concealer properties, I find it works best when applied directly onto fresh, clean skin.

Initially, I was not convinced by the marketing for this product and what it did but throughout time, I gradually became more intrigued by the concept of it. Christmas came around and I got a Sephora gift card as a gift so I decided to pick this up to try for myself. There was a lot of mixed reviews on this when it first came out, some people were saying it’s lifechanging and it truly brightened the skin under their under eyes significantly and some said it was cakey, crepey. From my experience from using this product, you only need a rice grain amount of on each eye then you must break down the product and blend evenly throughout the skin. I truly do believe some of the negative reviews are due to user errors on using the product because all you need is a rice grain amount for each side. Another part of me believes that those who struggled with dry, cakey issues from using this product are likely not moisturizing that region enough therefore whatever you apply on top of the dried region of skin, it will reflect that way as well.

The reason why I speak so highly of this product is that I watched a lot of demo and review videos to have a better understanding of what exactly this is and how to use it prior to purchasing it. It is a very expensive product so I want to know what exactly I’m doing prior to purchasing it. I wouldn’t speak highly on any product if I didn’t believe in it and this is very likely going to be a repurchase because it’s just fantastic and there’s so much product in it.

Before     &      After

Overall

  • Texture: 5/5 – The consistency appears to be a lightweight cream with a skin tone pigment and as you massage it in your skin, you will notice that it’s breaking down the product and pigment so it spreads more easily into your skin. It also has this hydrating factor to it because of the Koya pearl extract in it.
  • Scent: 5/5 – Doesn’t really smell like anything to me, maybe like a really, really faint floral scent.
  • Price: 4/5 – Arguably this could very much be expensive for many people and to be quite frank with you, it was expensive at the first glance for me as well but when I used the product and understood what it did for my skin, I was so impressed and honestly, I think this is definitely an item worth splurging on because it’s such a delicate and effective formula, I’m absolutely blown away how it’s brightened and also smoothened the skin under my eyes.
  • Performance: 5/5 – Amazing, this product definitely wowed me and I really like what they did with the formula and I found my skin looking so much brighter and smoother right after applying it on. It’s almost like silk! No concealer, no eye cream has looked this nice on my skin. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve tried a lot of products and liked them but this has such an incredibly finely and well-developed formula where it almost looks like your skin! It doesn’t look like you’re wearing makeup or have some concealer on.
  • Packaging: 5/5 – It’s Tatcha, are you kidding me? They have the best looking packaging and very aesthetically pleasing.
  • Overall: 5/5 – Love it, would buy more of it, would repurchase it the moment I finish this. I have no complaints with this products and hope to see more awesome products from Tatcha.

[REVIEW] HYDRABIO GEL-CREME

Bioderma does it again with another outstanding product. My skin has been absolutely insane this summer and not only that, it has been constantly flipping back and forth from dehydration to producing excess oil. My skin most certainly is responding to the humidity and the constant shift of cool to hot weather in a very negative way. Although I enjoy rich and creamy textures, I do prefer to wear more lightweight and gel formulas during the day time because it’s more comfortable on the skin and does the job.

Bioderma Hydrabio Gel-Creme
40 ml ~ price may vary between 25 ~ 30

How to use:

You can apply this evenly throughout the face or you can use this as light treatment for skin irritation and use another moisturizer if needed. I often have irritation on my nose and cheeks and a lot of products I normally use, do not work for my skin during when it’s irritated. I find this is quite mild where I can use it as a topical treatment to calm down and soothe my irritation.

Claims

  • The gel-cream is an innovative and physiological lamellar emulsion
  • The technology allows active ingredients to deeply penetrate into the skin at ease
  • It’s able to merge skin’s lipids and the lamellar emulsion strengthens skin’s barrier
  • It’s formulated with Salicylic acid which is able to smoothe and even out skin’s texture along with Vitamin B3 that can stimulate skin’s cohesion and resistance and has Cucumber Extract that soothes the skin. Glycerin that can store skin’s capacity to retain moisture and Vitamin E can aid against stress.
  • Recommended to be used for the morning, evening, 7 days a week. The gel-cream can be used once or twice a day, seven days a week.

Ingredients:

Water, Glycerin, Isododecane, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dipropylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Squalane, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, C14-22 Alcohols, Hdi/trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer, Ammonium Cryloyldimethyltaurate/vp Copolymer, C30-45 Alkyl Cetearyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Carbomer, Pentylene Glycol, Tocopheryl Acetate, C12-20 Alkyl Glucoside, Steareth-21, Disodium Edta, Salicylic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Mannitol, Xylitol, Hexyldecanol, Peg/ppg-18/18 Dimethicone, Rhamnose, Malachite Extract, Pyrus Malus (apple) Seed Extract, Brassica Campestris (rapeseed) Sterols, Tocopherol, Fragrance (parfum).

Overall:

  • Texture: 5/5 – lightweight cream, gel formula that absorbs easily into the skin without any residue left behind. Comfortable to wear alone and with makeup if needed. Apply this on prior to SPF then layer SPF on after. Remember folks, do not forget to SPF! It is a crucial step.
  • Scent: 3/5 – There is a scent to this however because it’s so low on dosage, I’m not bothered by it. However, I do prefer skincare that has no fragrance in it. In the past, I said I didn’t mind skincare with fragrance however my skin is quite hit or miss with fragrances so better to stay safe than sorry.
  • Price: 3/5 – The price may vary where you decide to purchase this from. The dermstore has this product for 24.90, which is quite reasonable because you only need a little bit to apply evenly throughout your face.Performance: 4/5 – It’s pretty good. It definitely met my expectations I had for it and provided me long-lasting hydration to my skin and was super comfortable to wear with and without makeup.
  • Packaging: 5/5 – Practical, compact and comes with a pump. The pump is easy to control and does not squeeze out too much. I find it really travel-friendly too!
  • Overall: 4/5 – Nice! I like it a lot. There are a few question ingredients as I put them on italics for you to reference off of but that’s up to you whether you think it’s best for you. Personally, I’m ok with alcohols as long as they don’t irritate my skin and eyes. The first place that reacts to alcohol-based products are my eyes, they go bloodshot red and stay that way until I remove off the product. For this, I didn’t have that issue at all. I know there’s some controversy behind silicones/dimethicone but I personally do not mind silicones. Silicones do aid against water loss and can assist with delivering active ingredients deeply into the skin. You’ll likely find a lot of products that are marketed for skin repairing/healing do contain silicones in them. However, if your skin does not like silicones, please do a patch test prior to using or ask for a sample of the product.

[REVIEW] GASTON CUSHION

Gaston does it again with another cute product. This time they decided to create a cushion compact! The one thing I admire and enjoy about cushion compacts is although it may have makeup components to it, it also has skincare benefits such as brightening, anti-aging and even spf!

This cushion has this luxurious appearance to it because of the gold accents to it. The cat logo is iconic and is just adorable! I was one of the very first international influencers to collaborate with Gaston and I am grateful to be able to be working with them. The first debuted with their beautiful eye patches. Both clear and black eye patches were just fantastic. They contacted me to see if I would be interested in trying out their cushion compact. I chose the shade #21 because I’m #21 for other brands such as Missha, Hera and etc.

Available on: 31box

My Skin Type and concerns:

Combination | PIE | Congested | Dehydrated | (Occasionally) Sensitive

Claims

  • Has SPF 50+ PA++++
  • Provides Anti-aging and whitening properties
  • Conceals and covers blemishes and creates the appearance of healthy and radiant skin
  • There is a slight cooling sensation when first applied onto the skin
  • Contains moisturizing essence and moisturizing oil to create that healthy skin appearance
  • There is a pink beige undertone to this to help brighten the skin
  • The ruby cell antibacterial puff is made in Japan and created the top-notch materials that are highly acid and alkali resistant.

Key ingredients

  • Red Ginseng Extract – helps with skin elasticity, moisturizing and protects the skin from UV damage
  • Bamboo Sap Extract – antioxidant that can prevent and slow down the process of aging
  • Royal Jelly Extract – this is one of the richest sources of vitamins, amino acids, and protein! Perfect for countering the signs of skin inflammation and promotes cell renewal.
  • Centella Asiatica Extract – a plant-based ingredient that has multiple healing properties. The extract is rich with amino acids, fatty acids and etc that can help treat and prevent acne, calming down skin inflammation and promote collagen growth.

    Overall

    • Texture: 5/5 – The formula for this cushion is really nourishing, rich and dense. Some cushion formulas are really light in feeling and have not much colour pay off.
    • Scent: 5/5 – There is a scent to this however, it’s not overpowering and quickly goes away.
    • Performance: 5/5 – Although it’s a richer and thicker formula, it’s quite long-wearing. I had little to no touch-ups with this and it did not oxidize on my skin. I found it very comfortable to wear and it didn’t feel like “makeup on the skin”. It just felt like I put a really nice facial oil that happens to have coverage to it.
    • Packaging: 5/5 – It’s super cute! I love GASTON’s logo because it’s fun and adorable. It looks luxurious in a way because of the gold packaging. I love the technology behind the cushion’s formula and rubycell puff.
    • Overall: 5/5 – I’m very pleased with this product, I honestly had no expectations nor did I know what to expect because they’re a new company and I’ve only tried their eye patches. It’s incredible! This is probably going to be one of my top cushions picks simply because it works and has an amazing amount of coverage. I found this quite close to my all-time favourite moonshot balm cushion.

[REVIEW] LANEIGE BB CUSHION WHITENING

Good morning, dear friends! I hope you’re having a fantastic week so far. This week’s item I will be reviewing is a bit different from what I usually review. This is a cushion compact by the brand Laneige. This product was kindly gifted to me through Meibe Korea in exchange for a review. Meibe Korea has a fantastic range of products to choose from both skincare and beauty. They also include the cutest freebies in their packages.

Cushion Available on: Amazon|Meibe Korea (US)|Ebay

Refill: Yesstyle

What is a cushion compact?

Cushion compacts are basically foundation mixed with various essences, serums, and even SPF to form and a multi-functional face product that serves multiple purposes. You get your sun protection, a bit of skincare and coverage in a compact form. Once you are finished with the product, you just purchase a refill. I know some brands do not offer refills, which means you have to repurchase a whole entire new cushion to replace it. K-Beauty normally does offer refills for their cushions.

Ingredients

The ingredients may vary by the shade colour so I’m only just referencing off the one I own, which is shade #21.

WATER / AQUA / EAU, CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, ZINC OXIDE (NANO), ETHYLHEXYL METHOXYCINNAMATE, TITANIUM DIOXIDE (CI 77891), PEG-10 DIMETHICONE, TITANIUM DIOXIDE (NANO), CYCLOHEXASILOXANE, PHENYL TRIMETHICONE, BUTYLENE GLYCOL DICAPRYLATE/DICAPRATE, NIACINAMIDE, LAURYL PEG-9 POLYDIMETHYLSILOXYETHYL DIMETHICONE, ACRYLATES/ETHYLHEXYL ACRYLATE/DIMETHICONE METHACRYLATE COPOLYMER, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, CAMELLIA SINENSIS LEAF EXTRACT, DIMETHICONE, DIMETHICONE/VINYL DIMETHICONE CROSSPOLYMER, DISODIUM EDTA, DISTEARDIMONIUM HECTORITE, MAGNESIUM SULFATE, MICA, MANGANESE SULFATE, METHYL METHACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, SODIUM CHLORIDE, STEARIC ACID, SILICA, ASCORBYL GLUCOSIDE, ACRYLATES/STEARYL ACRYLATE/DIMETHICONE METHACRYLATE COPOLYMER, ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE, HDI/TRIMETHYLOL HEXYLLACTONE CROSSPOLYMER, IRON OXIDES (CI 77491), ZINC SULFATE, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, CALCIUM CHLORIDE, CHENOPODIUM QUINOA SEED EXTRACT, TRIMETHYLSILOXYSILICATE, TRIETHOXYCAPRYLYLSILANE, PHENOXYETHANOL, POLYSORBATE 80, POLYPROPYLSILSESQUIOXANE, HYDROGENATED LECITHIN, FRAGRANCE / PARFUM, IRON OXIDES (CI 77492), YEAST EXTRACT / FAEX / EXTRAIT DE LEVURE, IRON OXIDES (CI 77499)

Shade Range:

Now before you complain about the limited shade range, this seems to be quite common in Korea where they tend to only offer 2-3 shades and that’s because it’s marketed for Korean people in Korea. I really appreciate Laneige for putting the extra effort and are gradually expanding on their shade range. This particular Whitening cushion line has a total of 12 shades; the lightest shade is No. 11 Porcelain and the darkest is No. 37 Cacao. In comparison to western beauty foundations, a 12 shade range is obviously little but it is a start especially for a Korean brand. If you compared this range to other K-Beauty brands, you would agree with me.

Overall:

  • Texture: 5/5 – Easily glides on the skin, does not cling onto dry patches or emphasize texture on the skin. It looks extremely natural and gives you the appropriate coverage and a glowy appearance to the skin. The coverage is between a medium to almost full coverage; I do like how you are able to control the amount you apply on your face.
  • Scent: 5/5 – There isn’t a noticeable scent for this, on the ingredient list it says that there is some fragrance but the dosage is relatively low because it is featured on the lower section of ingredients.
  • Price: 4/5 – I think the price is fair for what you are getting, very standard cushion pact pricing and it will always vary where you purchase this product from. There’s a lot of stores that sell Laneige products so the chances of you seeing this are quite high.
  • Performance: 5/5 – The two notable ingredients I noticed that were in this cushion was green tea extract and also niacinamide, both are fantastic ingredients that serve different purposes. They’re able to soothe the skin and also brighten the overall appearance. I love the results I get from using this cushion because it gives the skin a really beautiful appearance to it without looking overdone/cakey. It looks and acts like a 2nd layer skin and leaves you looking so luminous. The longevity of this cushion is good and lasts me between 6 ~ 8 hours; be sure to pack a powder pact in case you need to blot.
  • Packaging: 5/5 – It’s pretty looking! Simple and has a fun rainbow cover to it. The cushion pattern is neat and applies well on the puff. The puff is one of the better puffs I’ve tried. You can also use a makeup sponge such a beauty blender.
  • Overall: 5/5 – I would repurchase this and I would recommend anyone to give this a go. Back when I was using foundation, I didn’t know the purpose of cushion pacts because they just seemed so gimmicky, waste of product and no value to them but boy, I was terribly wrong. There’s just something about cushion pacts being able to allow you to achieve that “my skin but better” type of look. A lot of foundations tend to make the face look so flat and that’s why a lot of people seem to like to follow up with contour. For cushions, I don’t really feel like I need to contour or even highlight (wow, who is she?). If you’ve been following me long enough, you would know that I absolutely am obsessed with highlighters and my collection of highlighters is kind of ridiculous but I’m proud of it!

TIP: When searching for specific shades online, be sure to type on the search toolbar the TYPE of cushion you want and also your shade. eBay has a lot of coupon deal events that happen on a bi-weekly basis so keep an eye out for those and save, save save. If you have not already, sign up for ebates to save while you shop online.

This is an ultra-lightweight formulated serum that has colour correcting properties. It has a botanical complex that is able to soothe and counter the appearance of redness along with rejuvenating the skin. It’s formulated with Centella Asiatica extract which helps calm skin irritation and skin that is also sensitized by makeup application + external stressors. This dispenses out as a green hue but it will turn into a beige colour.

Skin background & Skin lesson:

Combination | PIE | Congested | Dehydrated | (Occasionally) Sensitive

Growing up, I use to think to cover up my flaws with a lot of foundation and concealer and that would make me feel better. My skin was never bad, however, I did have a terrible habit where I would scratch my face and it would turn into scabs, then it would scar. I think I learned a very valuable lesson when coming across these sorts of things because I was able to see the reality of what damage that could do to my skin.

From my late teen years to maybe when I was around 22, I was all about high coverage makeup that made my skin looked flawless. As I gradually got back into K-beauty, I realized I should be taking care of my skin and start preventing it from getting any worse than it is now. The first thing I started to include in my routine was to wear sunscreen regularly. I know, the sunscreen application can be a nuisance and texture of it can be uncomfortable at times. What’s worse? Protecting your skin and feeling uncomfortable temporarily or not then regretting it later on in life? You decide.

If you own any SPF powder and sprays, those are definitely not enough protection and you would need to apply an enormous amount of it for it to come into effect. I highly suggest you invest in a good sunscreen that is catered best for your skin. No two skin types are alike so just experiment around with mineral, physical and chemical sunscreens; check the ingredients and educate yourself what they can do your skin.

Now that my skin has recovered tremendously, I plan to protect it from here on and I’ve been wearing less and less makeup every day to work because I really don’t need it anymore. I’m sure most of us know that PIE never really goes away so I rely on products like this to neutralize my redness.

My thoughts:

I was so stoked to get this product because this is not available on Sephora Canada. I’ve seen a few of my American Instagram friends were featuring this product on their stories and I was so intrigued by the product. I really like this as a foundation alternative because it’s lightweight and provides me the perfect amount of coverage. The coverage for this is between light to medium; the finish of this is very dewy, your skin will look radiant and also very much like your skin! I love how natural this is and I even received compliments that my skin looks so good and “glossier model-like”. Which is an amazing compliment for me because I have always drooled over how gorgeous their skin looks! My biggest concern with this product was that it would oxidize or colour correct into an inaccurate shade for my skin. I’ve relatively pale so my foundation shades are (for you to reference off of):
K-Beauty: #21
Mac: NC15, NC20
NARS: Gobi
Sometimes universal shades/colour correcting products can be quite hit or miss with me so I’m glad this worked out in the end for me because I am a huge fan of Dr.Jart+ products and I don’t think they’ve ever failed me except the water drop cream. Now that, was a heck of a gimmicky product. It looked gimmicky and it was (Sorry, wasn’t for me!).

Overall:

  • Texture: 4/5 – This has a really unique texture to it. It is thick but as you massage it in your skin, it turns into this lightweight oil-serum texture. It first appears to look like a watered-down green paste but quickly turns into beige when you massage it in your skin. I think it does a great job naturally neutralizing away skin redness.
  • Scent: 5/5 – There is a slight scent to this but nothing I can really pinpoint what it is. It doesn’t linger and quickly goes away. According to the ingredients, there are essential oils in this and I’m assuming it’s to make the product smell more pleasant. The essential oils are lavender, grapefruit peel, rosemary and etc. If you are sensitive to essentials oils or scents, please use this with caution and also, be sure to do a swatch test prior to face application.
  • Price: 3/5 – I think it’s a tad pricey but Dr. Jart+ products tend to be on the pricier side of things. I see them as the “boujee K-Beauty” but I think it’s worth investing in if you suffer from redness and don’t really want to wear foundation. It’s a fantastic foundation substitute!
  • Performance: 5/5 –I’ve worn this with sunscreen and without on a 9-hour day shift and my face looked so good even after the end of the day. No separation, pilling or splotches. It looks fantastic! I would recommend you to blot throughout the day because I found myself kinda shiny when I didn’t. It really acts as a lightweight, weightless consistency leaving my skin look and feel natural. I only need about 2-3 drops to cover my entire face and it really makes a huge difference on the overall texture of appearance of my face. Firstly, I noticed how bright my complexion appeared and it even had that radiant glow from within. It is so beautiful!
  • Packaging: 4/5 – Practical, simple – I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get the excess product when I’m close to the end of the product but we will see…
  • Overall: 5/5 –  I love this! It acts as a second skin and is so moisturizing. It feels very comfortable to wear and can be worn with makeup. I would highly recommend you to this a go; I’m not quite sure how this would perform on deeper skin tones simply because it claims that this is marketed as a colour correcting serum from green to beige. I would most likely repurchase this because I’m all about the less is more type of look and I absolutely adore the technology behind this to make a product like this happen!

Stay tuned for an upcoming informative blog post on skin types, skin concerns in the near future. I’ve been working on this project for a while now but it has been taking me a lot of time to prepare this. Also, feel free to drop off any suggestions of products you would be interested in me to review or something you’ve seen on my Instagram feed that you would like me to do a review on.

[REVIEW] Skinfood Gummy Bear Hand Cream in Cherry Chocolate

Skinfood Gummy Bear Hand Cream – Cherry Chocolate (45ml)

Good afternoon ladies and gents, I hope we all are having a wonderful Thursday. Don’t worry, Friday is right by the corner. Today, I’m here to share my thoughts on this hand cream I got recently in the mail. It’s pretty adorable, huh? I do recall seeing this hand cream available in multiple different scents about 1-2 years ago? I thought these were completely sold out but I was lucky enough to stumble across an eBay seller who sold these. They weren’t cheap, I do recall paying about 12 Canadian dollars for it. These range from 8 Canadian dollars to 12 Canadian dollars. It really depends on where you decide to purchase these.

The scent reminds me of a Milky, Cherry creamsicle, I don’t really smell the chocolate/cocoa notes. As you can see in the photo, my hand is outrageously dry, doesn’t matter whether it’s fall, winter, spring or summer, my hands will always somehow be dry. I have been really neglecting my hand care so I should really get back into habit using hand creams when needed.

The first thing I noticed for texture was that this it’s not watery, thin nor is it too thick. It has a perfect combination of the two making it extremely easy to massage into the skin. You don’t need a lot of it to moisturize your hands and you most definitely can layer it if needed. It doesn’t give you that thick white cast on your hands when you apply too much which is nice because, at times, I tend to accidentally dispense out more hand cream than needed.

Texture: 5/5 – This is my ideal texture I would like in hand cream. A hybrid between lightweight but not watery and not thick where it’s difficult to spread.
Price: 3/5 – A bit on the pricey side for a standard hand cream but at least the packaging is adorbs.
Packaging: 5/5 – Super adorable, compact and iconic! Who doesn’t know or love gummy bears?
Moisturizing: 3/5 – I think this is a standard hand cream, it’s most definitely not heavy duty enough for dry, cracky winter hands
Scent: 3/5 – This scent could be better, I wish it smelled more like cherry chocolate because it really reminds of a cherry milkshake, cherry creamsicle or even creme savers hard candy!

I would probably recommend this anyone who collects cosmetics and loves cute packaging. It’s definitely something you can do without but great for those who collect these sorts of things.

Thanks for dropping by to check out my review~ Til next time, friends.

Firstly, I would like to thank Charles Kim from Commleaf for reaching out to me and giving me the opportunity to try and test out this product to it’s full potential. I received all of these products 2 months ago and got to try each and every one of them. Today, I will be reviewing the Commleaf Rose Sleeping Mask. I absolutely love sleeping masks and if you guys have not tried out sleeping masks out before, I would strongly like to suggest you to do so. Think of them as an all in one thick moisturizer enriched with nourishing and hydrating ingredients. You will wake up feeling refreshed and so will your skin!

I have used this mask twice every week since I have received it and I am so happy with the results that I had to come on my blog *for once* and share my thoughts on this lovely product.

The product is also…

  1. paraben-free
  2. sulfate-free
  3. alcohol-free
  4. silicone-free

My thoughts:

I really can appreciate minimalist packaging especially for skincare because I do believe that the consumer should be able to see the ingredients and what they are using. Skincare with busy packaging can be difficult to read.

The first thing I noticed when I dispensed this mask out from the tube, was that it had a very jam-jelly like consistency and beautiful red tint to it. As you massage it into your skin, you will notice the red tint is still there but not as noticeable. It has a faint rose-herbal scent to it. I wasn’t sent a silicone brush with this mask however I used my fingers to apply this sleeping mask and it worked just fine. I would leave this mask on overnight and rinse it the following morning. I am very pleased to see that this product does not break me out nor has an unbearable strong scent to it because I can be very sensitive to scents. My skin feels plump, supple and refreshed from every use!

If you cosDNA these ingredients, all of them are in the safe side of hazard scale and there are no silicones in this product. There are a handful of sleeping masks in the market that contain some sort of silicone in them to fake the appearance of “blurred skin”. I personally don’t have any issues against silicone based products but I don’t prefer them for various reasons – they can clog the skin, be irritating and also pill on the skin.

I would like to suggest this to everyone simply because it is an all around great sleeping mask. It brightens, fights signs of aging, heals scars and counters acne.

[REVIEW] Heimish All Clean Green Foam

Hello friends! I’m back with another skincare product review. This is a continuation of my lucky clover box products reviews from StyleKorean. I was fortunate enough to be selected to one of the winners to review the products in this box! This is one of the products that really caught my eye because it’s a cleanser and I go through cleansers pretty fast because I always use so much.

Product Description:

  • pH Balancing Facial Cleanser
  • Mildly Cleanses the skin
  • Minimum Formula
  • Moisturizing Cleanser

The first thing you will notice when you dispense this cleanser is it’s thick gel consistency and it’s noticeable herbal-scent. It lathers alright, it has this rich consistency to it and it didn’t foam up that much. I’ve tried using this cleanser on my double cleanse method and found it didn’t strip my skin moisture but retain it while cleaning the excess makeup off my face. I also could rub this cleanser around my eyes and didn’t experiencing any eye irritation. MANY cleansers in the market irritate the crap out of my eyes and I find myself very cautious applying my cleanser around my face. This one I don’t have to worry and can apply it close to my eyes without having them get all itchy and red.

I’m impressed and will continue to use this cleanser! Out of all the cleansers I own, this and the cosrx good morning one will always be my favourite gentle, non stripping cleansers! Please do keep it in mind if you use this alone without an oil cleanser to remove your makeup, you will notice that this doesn’t do a good job removing your makeup alone. My current favourite oil cleanser is the shu uemura blanc:chroma oil cleanser and also my favourite balm cleanser is the banila co clean it zero – original!

What skin type do you have?
My skin type is combination – dehydrated but oily t zone, sensitive and acne prone.
My cheeks and chin are often very dry.

My thoughts:
First off, I want to say the packaging for this mask is adorable! I love the simple illustration of the girl relaxing with her cute fluffy puppy because I look exactly like that after a long day of work, hahaha! The serum is on the richer, thicker side of serums however that being said I do believe it is fast absorbing because the choice of material they used for this mask. The sheet mask material feels so soft and luxurious and I’m pretty shocked how affordable these masks are. Initially, I was concerned it maybe too expensive for my budget but no, I was very wrong! Very affordable and suitable for my budget for sheet masks~~ I personally didn’t notice much brightening results however I did notice how supple and soft my skin felt after using it. Usually any type of skincare that is “nourishing” will have some tacky residue. I personally don’t mind it for this only because it doesn’t feel uncomfortable where I want to scrap that layer of residue off my face. Usually what happens when products are too thick for my skin, my skin will feel like it’s suffocating and congested and the first thing I will do is itch it. I haven’t itched once after removing this sheet mask. As you can see on the ingredient list, everything is on the mild side on the hazard chart so that’s good. As for scent, I didn’t really notice any scent. It’s really faint in scent and very difficult for me to figure out what that scent it is but according to the ingredient list, you will see “wild cherry”, “cranberry” and much more fruit extracts. The mask fit is great, it is stretchy and fits snug. I found the mask had a very generous amount of serum to distribute throughout the face and neck. The price is great, it’s not harsh on my skin and it’s very affordable, I will most likely repurchase this after I’m done my box of 5. I’ve been treating myself to a lot of sheet masks because I’m trying to avoid the expiry dates. Nothing is more upsetting than having to throw away sheet masks that have expired.

Here is the list of ingredients and also the cosdna breakdown of each ingredient’s hazard level: COSDNA INGREDIENTS BREAKDOWNDSC_0733DSC_0735DSC_0736

Texture: 3/5 – I like more watery essence masks
Scent: 4/5 – Faint to almost odorless! I kinda was hoping it would smell like something but it’s probably more beneficial for me to not have any added fragrance to it
Price: 5/5 – amazing and affordable – would recommend to all ages. Very budget friendly~
Performance: 4/5 no noticeable brightening results but it did a great job soothing my skin and providing my skin moisture without making it so sticky and congested from the serum

Overall: 4/5

Until next time, friends!
Have a good night and treat yourself to a mask!
